異 種 軍 刀

当時の記録や写真でも確認されるように、陸・海軍制式外装以外、日本刀打刀拵えの鞘に佩鐶を取り付けて革で覆い、各階級のかなり
の将兵達が軍刀として使っていた。
軍属もこうした軍属刀を佩用していた。革覆いの色は陸軍が茶系、海軍は黒が一般的だった。

Different-species Guntō

It is checked with record or a photograph of those days, the soldiers of each class attached the suspension mount to the scabbard of a Uchigatana-mounting, and covered by leather, and did the carrying as a Guntō.
Army civilian employees were also doing the carrying of such a Guntō.
Generally, the color of the army leather cover was brown and the navy leather cover was black.

緑の紐は刀身留め。陸軍用と思われる。
A green string is a blade stopper. Probably this sword is an army use.


打刀拵え「藤原統景」

打刀拵え革覆 外装　銘: 藤原統景、正保新刀、　(刃長:61.5㎝・反り:0.5㎝)、時代鍔

　　　銘: 豊州高田住藤原統景
　　
　　　江戸時代正保の頃、豊州(豊後国)高田派を代表する上手な刀工。
　　　本造り庵棟、刃長66.7㎝(２尺２寸０分)、反り1.4㎝(４分６厘)、元巾3.0㎝、先巾2.5㎝、
　　　元重ね6㎜、先重4㎜、
　　　地鉄、小板目詰み地沸付く。　　　　　　
　　　刃紋、小沸付くも刃縁締まり心の直刃。
　　　帽子、直ぐに、先、小丸に返る。
　　　茎、僅か茎尻が摘まれている。

葵形状の鍔
A mallow-shaped guard
　柄は打刀、鞘は略式外装と同じ革包みの木鞘。鍔と柄頭・縁に
　「笹の葉」の彫り。
　目貫は陸軍の「三連桜」と同じ。

　A hilt is Uchigatana-mounting form. A wooden scabbard is
　the same leather package as an informality mounting.
　It is engraving of "the leaf of bamboo grass" to a guard,
　Tsuka-gashira and a ferrule.
　A metal ornaments Menuki is the same as army "cherry
