明治時代前期型

無銘:　(刃長:.20.7㎝・内反) 　茶色研出鮫皮巻木鞘、金具: 金鍍金、
桜花: 高彫り、桜花蕾・葉: 毛彫り　(全長: 37.6㎝)

The first half type of Meiji Era

Mumei:　(Blade length: 20.7㎝, Curvature: Opposite curvature), Brown polished-
and-lacqurered rayskin binding. wooden scabbard, Metal parts: Gilding,
Cherry blossoms: Convex engraving. A cherry-blossoms bud and leaf: Line engraving
Overall length: 37.6㎝.

輪胴とshoe(石突)の上部に「桜花」の高彫りと「葉」の毛彫りが各一つ付く。従って駐爪ボタンのこちら側が佩表ということになる。
輪胴の桜花葉の彫り模様は左右対象だが shoeと縁の彫り模様は対象ではない。外装会社によってこの通りとは限らない。
明治前期型の高品質の短剣である。

Each one, the convex engraving of "cherry blossoms" and hairline graving of a "leaf" are attached to the upper part of a locket and shoe. Therefore, the spring-clip button side here is the front side of a dirk. Although the engraving pattern of the cherry-blossoms leaf of a locket is a candidate for right and left The engraving pattern of shoe and a ferrule is not an object. It is not necessarily this passage by a mounting-company. A blade is a Japanese knife of a forging. This dirk is the quality mounting made at the Meiji term.

明治時代後期型「経家」

銘: 経家、古刀 (刃長:.-㎝・内反) 　黒研出鮫皮巻木鞘、金具:金鍍金、
桜花: 高彫り、桜花蕾・葉: 毛彫り　(全長: 40㎝)

The latter-term type of Meiji Era "Tsuneie"

Mei: Tsuneie, Koto (Blade length: -㎝, Curvature: Opposite curvature), Black-
polished-and-lacqurered-rayskin binding wooden scabbard, Metal parts: Gilding,
Cherry blossoms: Convex engraving. A cherry-blossoms bud and leaf:　Line engraving
Overall length: 40㎝.

銘: 経家 Mei: Tsuneie
	輪胴とshoe(石突)の上部に「桜花」の高彫り

駐爪
駐爪	ハバキ表裏に「正路」の刻印　　子爵・堀田正路中佐(海兵29期、明治34年12月卒)の所有短剣と推定される	兜金と模様

lacquered wooden scabbard, Metal parts: Gilding,
Cherry blossoms, bud and leaf:　Line engraving.　Overall length: 39.5㎝.

昭和期型「無銘」

無銘:　近代刀、木鞘: 黒牛革巻、金具: 瀬戸鍍金、(全長: 41.5㎝)

Showa term type "Mumei"

Mumei:　Modern-sword, Metal parts: Seto plating, Black cowhide binding wooden scabbard.
Cherry blossoms, bud and leaf: Convex engraving.　Overall length: 41.5㎝.

士官候補生短剣

模造刀、黒研出鮫皮巻木鞘、金具:　瀬戸鍍金 (全長: 41.3㎝)

Cadet Dirk

Imitation sword. Black-polished-and-lacqurered-rayskin binding wooden scabbard.
Metal parts: Gilding, Cherry blossoms, bud and leaf: Convex engraving. Overall length: 41.3㎝.

柄に背金を付けた士官候補生用。大正３年以前の作。以降は、士官候補生短剣も士官用に統一された。士官短剣は士官の象徴、装飾性の意味合いが強い為、機械製の模擬剣身がかなり使われた。

The dirk of the cadet use which attached the backstrap to the hilt. This dirk was made before 1914. Henceforth, the
cadet dirk was unified for officers. Since an officer dirk had an officer's symbol and the strong implications of
fanciness, the imitation blade made from a machine was used considerably.
